How to Host a Fishing Trip
  • Work with Trip Committee to;
  •      Organize trip
  •      Post on web page
  •      Set any limitations on attendance, waitlist.
  •      For winter trips, state cancellation policy.  Should be no less than 72 hrs in advance.
  • Promote\describe trip at preceding club meeting including any preferred guides, travel, food, overnighting options, etc.
  •       Ask meeting attendees for questions, any medical concerns
  •       Ask for suggestions
  •      Discuss car-pool availability
  •      Discuss what to bring (rod wt., line type, flies, water, mittens, etc.)
  • Be familiar with destination, places to fish, access, and difficulty.
  •  Write up description and distribute to attendees only of location, accommodations, type of water, fishing techniques, approximate costs including required license(s) and any non-fishing spouse options. 
  • Attendee sign-up should be through the web page.  This will also be the list for further correspondence details.
  • Act as point of contact.
  •       Set time and place to meet including directions to location.
  •       Organize roster, take attendance, use buddy system to track and confirm signed waivers for all attendees.
  •       Create text chain for communication between attendees
  •       Arrange group activity for overnight trips (restaurant meeting day\time, potluck dinner\ dessert, hosted breakfast, etc.)
  •       Can set up a site cleaning activity to remove garbage
  •       If appropriate, post BFF banner at location.
  • Collect photos, comments (good and bad) and write post-trip report for posting to the website.  Not to include photo metadata.
