Smith and Morehouse Res (substitute for Echo Res) June 14
Weather was clear and conditions were good. Water was cloudy and high. Fishing options were stillwater and river the inlet to reservoir. Nine members attended, half were wading and others were floating the lake. Wading folks had a better time using copper John's and black leaches. They caught a mixed bag of grayling and rainbows all about 12inches.
Lake fishers had a more difficult time. Out of four people, a couple rainbows were caught. Using a variety of flies including balanced leaches, stillwater nymphs and wooley buggers. Olive was the color of choice also black had some grabs. Chironomids were present with shucks on the surface. Fish were rising when we were assembling boats but tapered off by the time the boats were launched.
Fishing wrapped up around three, most members expressed an enjoyable day.
