Leader is Brian Sheets
Closer to the event, we will decide which lake(s) to fish. Options include Lost Lake Reservoir, Lily Lake and Teapot Lake.
The Unita Trip is still a go. Leaders have been up there 3 times in the last three weeks. Fishing is slow on top with beetles, ants and caddis working a bit. Several members of the club went under the water and seemed to be doing better. Small streamers in black, olive with some sparkle. Wolly's, SlumpBusters, Peas-n-carrots, Midnight fire were all getting hits. As well, a beadhead, black leech pattern. Medium fast strip with about 10"/strip.
Fish seemed to be working at all depths. Tigers will come up quite a ways for a surface snack. Rainbows seem to want in-your-face delivery.
Mosquitoes aren't bad, yet.
Float tubes can be used on most of the lakes.

Target Species: Rainbow, brook, and tiger trout
Drive time: Depending on the lake, 1.75 hrs., 70 miles.
Level of fishing difficulty: Easy to Moderate. Hungry fish, often on dry flies. Usually, this time of the summer dry flies will work including beetles, ants, renegades and maybe hoppers but it could be a little early for them. Also, a dry fly attractor with a dropper may also work. I will give a better breakdown about a week before the trip.
Access: Via the paved Mirror Lake Highway with dirt parking lots. Four by four or high clearance vehicles not required.
Weather: Cool mornings with warm comfortable days. Bring rain gear. The Unitas are known for afternoon rain storms but they are usually short in duration. And wind.
Terrian: Bank fishing favorable, chest or hip waders and kick boats provide additional access at all three lakes.
Wading difficulty: Easy, waders not required.
