Welcome to

Bonneville Fly Fishers

Beaver - March 19/22, 2026

Five BFF fishermen and one guest made the trip to Beaver. It was a very warm winter, so we arrived much after any ice that remained on the lake.  Regardless, fishing was particularly good in the reservoir.  Steve, and new member to the club, caught over 70 fish one day from his pontoon and Jeff caught almost 20 Saturday fishing for less than 3 hrs.  All fish were big, fat holdover rainbow up to 26 inches.  We were warned through a pre visits by BFF members Pat and Rich that the Beaver River below the reservoir was slow and weedy.  Jeff tried the river up the canyon from Beaver for a bit without success.  Thank goodness the reservoir fished so well!  Also, we were fortunate that Jeff was able to send us a throat pump picture (above) from Thursday, identifying quite a number of eggs and midge larva, together with a couple small damsel and a caddis nymph before three of us arrived on Friday.
