Yellowstone - 2026

Weather was beyond expectations when 11 members from BFF descended on West Yellowstone to share food, fun and experiences in our group cabin.  While early morning temperatures were in the 20’s, the mostly sunny days warmed up to the upper 50’s and low 60s quickly.  Cool, wet weather the previous week helped to move “lakers” (good sized rainbows and browns) up into the moving water in the park, which a number of us were able to experience.  People also took the opportunity to fish for resident fish, including cutthroat, in places like Lamar Valley, Yellowstone Lake, Hebgen lake and the Madison and Henry’s rivers outside the park.  Everyone shared in the duties of meal prep, clean up and returning the cabin so it could be ready for the next residents.  While it can be somewhat crowded, Yellowstone offered more than just fishing, including great scenery, wildlife and a unique experience.
