Trip leader is Ron Barnett and Jesse Dulgos
When: Saturday, October 5, 2024
Where: Strawberry Reservoir, 23 miles southeast of Heber City, on Highway 40.
We will explore the expansive opportunities for fly fishing from shore in this historically productive reservoir. Small groups of anglers will fish various access points and communicate success by text or walkie-talkie, allowing us to relocate to productive locations as conditions dictate.
Bear Lake cutthroat trout and rainbow trout, with typical sizes in the 18” and 15” range, respectively, are our likely targets.
If you are new to fly fishing, this is a chance to learn some techniques that are effective in any stillwater angling situation. If you are new to Utah, this is an opportunity to glean information about one of Utah’s most important fisheries from some of BFF’s most experienced anglers.
Early October is the beginning of the fall cool down for the reservoir. Regular trips to Strawberry from then until ice forms is a great way to hit one of those glorious fly fishing days the reservoir is famous for.
Please register if you are interested. More information will be forthcoming to those on the registration list.
We look forward to seeing you there!
