Date - estimated to be between April 7th and April 12th     Leader - Jayne Guyse

Just a heads up, you will probably only get 12-18 hours notice of the trip date.

We are still waiting on the right ice-off conditions for our April outing to Strawberry. Trips that need specific conditions are really difficult to plan for a group, but that’s what we are trying to do with this. Thanks in advance for your patience and flexibility.

Pat Ronneburg drove over to Strawberry on Sunday (3/30) to have a look. The reservoir was still under ice except at the Ladders and in one shallow cove. We are waiting for the ice to pull back 20-30 feet from the edge(s). We are not looking for the ice to be completely off the reservoir.

Someone will drive out to check again for us Friday (4/4). Depending on what they see, we will drive back out there again over the weekend and provide an update.

We THINK the conditions will be right one day that week (4/7-12). Just a heads up, you will probably only get 12-18 hours notice of the trip date. Once the ice starts to pull back, it goes extremely quickly.

If you want to get updates on the trip, please sign up on the website.  I will not distribute the updated information to the membership-at-large about this trip. Only those of you who signed up will get the trip details, equipment list, suggested flies, etc. If you sign up but can’t make it because of the ever-changing date, that’s OK. Just let me know once we set the date, and I will remove you from the group text for this trip.
