We will be fishing the Duchesne River and tributaries from the beautiful Aspen campground.
Target Species: Rainbow, brown and brook trout.
Drive time: 2 hrs. 116 miles.
Level of fishing difficulty: Generally fairly easy to hungry trout.
Access: Paved except for campsite road which is well maintained.
Weather: 7,200', cooler than the SLC valley (great way to escape the heat).
Terrian: There are numerous access points adjacent to the river, often with good dirt parking and requiring some hiking. Waders are recommended. INdividuals can fish the river from the campsite by walking.
Wading difficulty: Easy but generally requires hip or chest waders to get around brush and rocky banks. Hiking in the steams is moderately difficult with some rocks but can be crossed in a number of locations.
