Yellowstone overnight - October 16-20

We had ten hardy souls on our latest BFF fall trip to Yellowstone National Park.  Enough to fill all the bedrooms in our rented cabin and occupy each seat at the community dining table.  Fishing holes, access, ideas and options were discussed each evening as we scored our successes and learnings from the previous day’s endeavors.  It was a great group that helped with the evening and morning meals and clean-up.  Numerous fish were caught, including resident fish particularly from the Fire Hole river, as well as resident and large, well colored “runner” browns and rainbows from both Quake and Hebgen lakes. A cold front and precipitation passed through on Friday, which is believed to have helped get the runners moving up the river system. The only real complaint was that the trip was too short, and most participants would like to see a trip around the same time next year that extends through to the following Monday.
